Pregnancy Care Centers
the Crisis Management arm of PASS:
A Network of Life Affirming Care
When you think of PASS, chances are you think about the work we do in the centers. Women experiencing unplanned pregnancy come from every walk of life, every social and economic background. Many are unwed, pursuing their education or career advancement, still others are married and experiencing emotional, economic, or health difficulties.
You may be surprised to learn last month that, in fact, 49% of all pregnancies in the United States are unplanned, and that nearly half of these pregnancies end in abortion. That means that nearly half of every baby that’s conceived is at some risk for abortion, and that approximately 25% of every baby conceived is aborted.
This means that, in the 90 communities that PASS serves, namely South and Southwest Cook County and Will County, we must make our services known to and available for 22,000 women annually to end abortion here.
Volunteers trained in crisis intervention counseling specific to the young woman facing unplanned pregnancy touch between 2500 and 3000 lives at PASS every year.
Our conversion to a limited medical clinic has allowed us to provide a window to the womb for hundreds of women at the Tinley Park Center so far this year.
Between crisis intervention counseling and ultrasound scans, more than 95% of abortion vulnerable women are empowered to carry their babies to term because of PASS.
Ministry Challenge:
Last year 2200 crisis’s walked through the doors of PASS – 2200 – that’s 2200 stories – and during those visits lives were saved and lives were turned over to Christ as a matter of fact almost 300 woman surrendered their lives to Jesus. What a powerful ministry – right here in our back yard!
With every ounce of good news however seems to come a gallon of bad:
Empirical data tells us that a woman – even in crisis - will travel no more than 6 miles to seek support for her unplanned pregnancy.
So with our 4 centers we are reaching only a very small percent of those in need of our services – and the only true Hope that comes from Jesus.
In the meantime, the abortion strategists are putting up their “counseling centers” all over our area. Most don’t get the headlines that their 22,000 square foot – 7 ½ million dollar facility in Illinois second largest city is getting, but they are putting up smaller centers right by OUR high schools and are spending millions of dollars supporting and lobbying for their versions of “freedom” and “choice”
The bottom line: we need more centers – more ultrasound machines – more volunteers – more resources to fight this battle!
This ask is a big task for two big reasons:
- Money is money and most of us never believe we have enough.
- We are asking for much more than a one-time donation – we are asking for partners in His pursuit of “life more abundantly” – helping to spread the truth, sharing our versions of “freedom” and “choice”
God reminds us often in His word that He came to give life. Precious life. Abundant life.
Satan came to steal and destroy and kill…
We are asking that you trust Gods promises of abundant life…
Project Legacy is about starting a work that will build on this important ministry, establishing an infrastructure and capacity that will take us through not only the next 25 years but for many more years beyond.
In all the facets of this ordained ministry, there is great need to invest in a foundation that will leave a legacy in its wake…
